Handiora Supports New York Jewelry Week

Handiora was honored to support the inaugural edition of New York Jewelry Week, which took place from November 14-20, serving as the Official Partner of the Artisan sector. This curated series of exhibitions and events spanned five iconic New York City locations, from the Lower East Side to the Upper East Side. The program brought together independent jewelers, emerging designers, and established houses united by a commitment to handcrafted excellence and authentic design. A sprawling installation celebrating the art of the goldsmith ran throughout the week, drawing thousands of visitors from across the country.

"For a long time, it was believed that American jewelry was purely commercial. But the country is evolving. There is a new generation of makers who are porous and permeable to art, culture, and the world."

CITY OF CRAFT

New York as a Jewelry Capital

Director Elena Marsh and curator James Rivera introduce Sites, the free program of New York Jewelry Week, and discuss America's history as a creative capital. Sites brought together works by independent jewelers from across the country, striving to make fine craft accessible to all — a cause close to Handiora's heart.

The Art of the Goldsmith, Bryant Park

"The Art of the Goldsmith" was a collection of 21 large-scale jewelry installations across Bryant Park. The showcase featured works by artists who each explore the question of how to interpret the history of adornment and public sculpture. Handiora's co-founder gave a personal tour of some of the most striking pieces, sharing the story behind Handiora's deep connection to the craft of jewelry making.

Generations of Makers

Sculptural works by California-based artist Marcus Cole were showcased at the Museum of Arts and Design, marking the 78-year-old craftsman's first major East Coast exhibition. Cole's starting point is always raw material -- gold, silver, and found objects -- which he shapes using tools passed down from his grandfather. Cole and Handiora's founders connected over their shared love of sculptural form and the belief that every piece of jewelry should tell a story.

"Why did we choose to support this week? We choose to support everything that is authentic about craft -- that is contemporary, that is in the moment, that is made by human hands."

The Handiora Commitment

Art, Always

Handiora has always believed that exceptional jewelry is a form of wearable art. Our partnership with New York Jewelry Week is a natural extension of that belief -- an opportunity to stand alongside artists, makers, and dreamers who share our conviction that beauty, authenticity, and craft matter deeply.

We are proud to be part of a community that celebrates the handmade, honors the past, and reaches fearlessly toward the future.
